Overview of the Cultural & International Relations Unit

The Cultural & International Relations Unit was established by University President Decision No. 2470/Q dated 4/9/1438H under the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. It is an administrative unit that focuses on organizing, monitoring, and developing cultural relations between the University of Jeddah and Saudi, Arab, and international universities, as well as research centers.

The unit organizes and supports:

	Faculty participation in scientific conferences, cultural weeks, and international exhibitions.
	Scientific awards, recognitions, andpatent registrations.
	Internal and external seminars, workshops, and training programs.

Objectives

	Global Excellence:Contribute to the university’s vision of achieving global academic and research excellence through international scientific participation.
	Cultural Presence:Enhance the university’s presence in international cultural weeks, exhibitions, and global forums.
	Strategic Planning:Prepare an annual integrated strategic plan for the university’s global scientific participations and accompanying exhibitions.
	Strengthening Partnerships:Strengthen ties with other universities and activate effective cooperation within scientific and cultural committees.
	Agreement Activation:Activate and monitor scientific and cultural agreements, preparing frameworks for various fields of cooperation and managing agreement renewals.
	Knowledge Exchange:Build bridges for regional and international collaboration to benefit from global experiences while sharing the university's distinct expertise.
	International Compliance:Follow up on the recommendations of joint committees and international agreements between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries.
	Innovation Support:Promote and organize participation in scientific competitions, awards, and the registration ofintellectual property and patents.

Key Responsibilities

•	Infrastructure: Provide the essential elements and resources to achieve the administration’s objectives.
•	Cooperation Mechanisms: Establish clear mechanisms to maximize benefits from cultural cooperation with international universities through official agreements.
•	Quality Assurance: Formulate auxiliary mechanisms that ensure quality and excellence in local and international conference participations.
•	Academic Exchange: Coordinate exchange visits, invite distinguished scholars and specialists to the university, and facilitate their arrival procedures and visas.
•	Data Management: Maintain comprehensive databases for faculty participation, visiting professors, international committee nominations, and internal scientific events.
•	Digital Transformation: Develop a dedicated university webpage to link administrative forms with Ministry requirements and provide guidelines for participation.
•	Knowledge Utilization: Create mechanisms to benefit from the scientific mission reports submitted by faculty members who attend global events.
