The scholarship student must resume work at the University within thirty (30) days from the date of completion of their studies, in accordance with Article (188) of the Implementing Regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service, which stipulates: “The scholarship student must resume work within thirty (30) days from the date of completion of their studies.”
The resumption of work request is submitted electronically through the “Kafaa – Self-Service” system. The scholarship student should select “Resumption of Work Request”, complete the form, and submit it to the direct supervisor for approval.
The scholarship student is requested to select “Type of Resumption: Scholarship Completion” and state the reason for resuming work in the remarks field.
Approval of the resumption of work request by the Scholarships Administration and its submission to the Human Resources Department requires the scholarship student to submit a graduation request if they have obtained the academic degree for which the scholarship was granted, or a scholarship completion request if they have not obtained the degree.
This is required in order to settle the scholarship student’s financial entitlements and close their scholarship file with the Scholarships Administration.
A scholarship student studying within the Kingdom may resume work if they have been authorized to print their thesis or have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the defense.
After the thesis defense and upon obtaining the degree certificate or official documentation confirming that the scholarship student has obtained the academic degree for which the scholarship was granted, the scholarship student must submit a graduation request.
This is based on the decision of the Permanent Committee for Scholarship and Training No. (2), adopted at its third meeting held on 15/08/1439 AH.
