International Cooperation

Basic Terminology

Foreign Entity: Refers to any foreign legal entity (governmental, semi-governmental, or private) licensed and recognized in its country, provided joint cooperation relations exist between that country and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Local Entity: Refers to any national legal entity within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (governmental, semi-governmental, or private) that the University of Jeddah intends to establish joint cooperation with.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU): A formal, legally non-binding document defining areas of cooperation and frameworks for joint work. It entails no financial obligations and serves as a preliminary step for executive programs.

Cooperation Agreement: A formal binding document organizing the cooperative relationship and defining mutual obligations, responsibilities, and rights between the two entities.

Executive Program: A formal non-binding document focusing on specific activities (scientific, research, or training). It is approved internally without external approvals if based on a previous MoU or agreement.

Basic Rules

Agreements must achieve direct/indirect interests for the university and observe regulatory procedures.

Compliance with Cabinet decisions and indicative models for international projects is mandatory.

Authorization is required before any official signs or initials an agreement representing the Kingdom.

Original copies are kept by the National Center for Documents and Archives; the university keeps authenticated copies.
  •  
Arabic versions must be linguistically identical to the foreign text to ensure integrity.
