Cultural Relations and International Cooperation Unit

The Deanship of Scholarships and International Cooperation - Cultural Relations and International Cooperation Unit

His Excellency the University President issued Resolution No. 2470/Q, dated 4/9/1438 AH, establishing the Cultural Relations and International Cooperation Unit, affiliated with the University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. This unit is an administrative unit reporting to the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. The unit is responsible for organizing, following up, and developing cultural relations between the university and other Saudi, Arab, and international universities and research centers. It also proposes regulations for faculty members' conference attendance and submits them to the University President for approval and implementation. The administration also coordinates faculty members' participation in scientific conferences, cultural days and weeks, and scientific awards. Furthermore, the administration organizes faculty members' attendance at internal and external conferences, seminars, and workshops.

 

Objectives:-

  •  
Contributing to achieving the university's vision and mission to be among the world's leading universities in all educational and research fields through scientific participation.
  •  
Raising the level of the university's participation in cultural days, weeks, and international exhibitions. Working to create an appropriate atmosphere for faculty members to participate in academic events, workshops, conferences, and seminars, and to enrich scientific exchange and cooperation.
  •  
Preparing an annual future plan for the university for all international and scientific participations and accompanying exhibitions.

Tasks:-

  •  
Providing the essential elements necessary to achieve management objectives.
  •  
Establish a clear and specific mechanism and activate the benefits of cooperation in cultural fields between the university and international universities through official agreements.
  •  
Establishing support mechanisms that ensure quality and excellence in participation in local and international conferences and exhibitions.
  •  
Preparing an annual plan for conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and scientific meetings held at the university, and announcing and providing media support to ensure good participation and highlight and enhance the university’s role and academic standing.
  •  
Follow up and facilitate the procedures for faculty members’ participation in conferences and seminars and submit a scientific report on each participation.
  •  
Activating, assisting, and following up with university faculty members to obtain scientific awards and approved patents.
  •  
Activate the benefits of annual scholarship programs and grants offered to the university by international organizations and universities, and follow up on applications for them.
  •  
Creating a comprehensive database on all topics that the university wishes to activate and document with other universities.
  •  
Coordinating exchange visits between the university and other universities and scientific research institutes, inviting specialists, outstanding scholars, and scientists to visit the university, and facilitating and completing the procedures for their attendance.
  •  
Facilitating the necessary approvals for faculty members to attend conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  •  
Supporting the organization of conferences at the university and following up on their holding with relevant entities within the university, with the aim of strengthening academic ties between the university and other universities and promoting innovation.
  •  
Facilitating visiting professors to obtain the necessary visas to visit the university.
  •  
Create a database of faculty members’ attendance and participation in conferences and workshops.
  •  
Creating a comprehensive database of visiting professors and their specializations.
  •  
Establishing a comprehensive database of faculty members’ nominations for international committees and organizations.
  •  
Creating a comprehensive database of conferences and workshops held within the university.
  •  
Establishing an appropriate mechanism for utilizing the scientific mission reports submitted by members who attended scientific conferences.
  •  
Beginning the creation and development of an independent page on the university’s website to facilitate the linking of administrative forms related to the administration’s work with the Ministry of Higher Education, as well as to add regulations for conference attendance and administrative forms required to be completed by a faculty member when applying to attend a conference.
  •  
Strengthening cultural ties and relations between the university and other universities by organizing active participation in scientific and cultural committees among them.
  •  
Activating and promoting scientific and cultural agreements, partnerships, and cooperation between the university and other universities, preparing a vision for various areas of cooperation, and following up on the renewal of agreements.
  •  
Planning to build bridges of cooperation and open international and regional channels to benefit from the experiences of other similar entities and provide them with the expertise that distinguishes the university.
  •  
Activating and following up on the recommendations and decisions of joint committees and agreements concluded between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries in related fields.
  •  
Activating and organizing participation in scientific competitions and awards and registering patents.
