General Scholarship Provisions

Good biography:

"The scholarship student must be of good conduct, maintain the reputation of his country, attend his studies, and be studied within the period specified in the scholarship decision... Article (180) of the Executive Regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service.

 

  •  

The need to inform the cultural attaché before departure:

"It is not permissible for a scholarship student to stop attending his place of study except after informing the cultural attaché of this" Article (185) of the Executive Regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service.

Combine my program:

"It is not permissible for a scholarship student to enroll in two postgraduate programs at the same time, and the University Council may make an exception from that" Article (34) of the Regulations of Scholarship and Training for University Employees.

Promotion during the mission:

It is not permissible to consider the promotion of an employee if he is on a scholarship or delegated to study, or attached to a training course exceeding (six) months at home or abroad. Paragraph (a) of Article (49) of the Executive Regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service.

Calculating the duration of the scholarship in the promotion:

"The period of scholarship, delegation or study leave shall not be calculated for the purpose of completing the period of experience required for the job to which he is to be promoted if the purpose of any of them is not achieved" Paragraph (b/3) of Article (48) of the Executive Regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service.

Calculating the scholarship period in the balance of the regular leave:

"The period of scholarship to study abroad or the period of scholarship to study abroad and the period of training at home or abroad of not less than one year shall not be included in the calculation of the balance of the regular leave" Paragraphs (g/h) of Article (135) of the Executive Regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service.

Suspension of allowances in case of scholarship:

"Allowances shall be paid every month in addition to the employee's salary and shall be reduced by the percentage of the decrease in salary and their payment shall be suspended if the salary is suspended, and the allowances shall not be paid when compensating for leave or in the case of scholarship" Article (55) of the Regulations of Financial Rights and Benefits.

Work after the end of the study:

"After the expiry of the period specified for his studies, the scholarship student shall work for the body that granted him a period equivalent to the period of his scholarship, and when he refuses to do so or does not complete the required period of work, he shall be obliged to pay all the financial costs incurred on him for the purpose of scholarship according to the period equivalent to the period of his scholarship or the remainder thereof. The competent minister may exempt him from working for the entity for the aforementioned period if he is going to work for another government agency whose budget is financed from the general budget of the State, and exempt him not exceeding half of that period if he is going to work for another government agency whose budget is not funded from the general budget of the State or in the private sector." Article (189) of the Executive Regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service.

Assigning the scholarship student to administrative work:

"The teaching assistant or lecturer on scholarship for postgraduate studies at home shall be assigned administrative or teaching work appropriate to his academic specialization, provided that this does not affect his academic achievement in accordance with what is decided by the Council of the Department to which he is scholarship" Article (19) of the Scholarship and Training Regulations for University Employees.

Attachment of the wife of the scholarship for training to the mission:

The Royal Order No. 8073 / R dated 13/5/1406 AH ruled not to allow the inclusion of the wives of scholarship students for training in educational missions because the training courses are often less than the duration of the study.
