Vice Deanship for Scholarship & Training Affairs

The Vice Deanship oversees three specialized operational units: Scholarship and Training, Joint Supervision, and Cultural Relations. These units operate according to the approved organizational structure of the Deanship of Graduate Studies and International Cooperation, pursuant to Resolution No. (470500211) dated 29/07/2025. These units integrate to develop academic, research, and professional capabilities while enhancing the university's global standing.

 

Cultural Relations Unit

This unit manages faculty participation in scientific events (conferences, seminars, and workshops) according to approved regulations. It also processes visiting professor requests, manages scientific awards, and secures Ministry of Education approvals for hosting scientific events in compliance with official instructions.

Unit Tasks

  •  
 Strategic Planning: Prepare an integrated annual plan to follow up on all scientific and cultural participations and accompanying exhibitions.
  •  
 Facilitation: Facilitate necessary procedures and approvals for faculty members to attend seminars, conferences, and workshops.
  •  
 Data Management: Maintain documented databases for visiting professors, mission reports, faculty participations, and university-held scientific events.
  •  
 Reporting: Submit periodic reports on faculty participations and scientific visits, including a technical report for each individual participation.
  •  
 Elevating Participation: Enhancing the university’s presence in cultural weeks and international exhibitions.
  •  
 Scientific Climate: Create an optimal environment for faculty participation in scientific forums and international exchange management.
  •  
 Strengthening Ties: Building relations between the university and other institutions to activate effective participation in scientific environments.
  •  
 Training Supervision: Oversee attendance at international training courses and specialized workshops.
  •  
 Knowledge Utilization: Developing mechanisms to benefit from mission reports submitted by faculty members post-participation.
  •  
 Awards & Competitions: Improving the organization of participation in scientific awards and competitions.
  •  
 Media Support: Promote and support the annual plan for conferences and scientific meetings to showcase the university's role.
  •  
 Internal Coordination: Organize activities and coordinate with relevant university departments to enhance scientific bonds.
  •  
 Visiting Professors: Facilitate visa issuance for visiting professors to ensure smooth academic visits.

Conference A formal meeting discussing specific themes via refereed research papers. It is called a "Forum" if accompanied by a commercial exhibition.
Seminar A meeting of specialists to discuss a specific topic, often as part of a broader event or national campaign.
Forum A meeting to discuss general topics where participants exchange views through sessions and workshops.
Lecture An event featuring a single speaker presenting a specific paper or presentation.
Training Course A focused session aimed at developing practical skills through specific activities.
Workshop Focus groups where specialists and interested parties exchange views to produce specific results.
Scientific Session A scientific meeting of two or more people, managed by a chairperson to discuss a specific topic within a set timeline.
Scientific Day An event highlighting research outputs and creating an encouraging environment for scientific research.
