About the Deanship of Graduate Studies and International Cooperation

The Deanship of Graduate Studies was established in 1435 AH. It follows the organizational structure of the University's Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, with the aim of supervising the quality and systems of graduate studies at the university, organizing and developing policies, and governing procedures to achieve leadership, quality, and excellence in specialized programs that align with national and global trends to achieve national goal

Agency Tasks
  • The establishment and development of graduate programs in alignment with the Kingdom’s strategic vision, the goals of national transformation programs, and labor market needs
  • Developing mechanisms and policies governing graduate studies at the university to achieve quality and excellence, in line with national directions, global benchmarks, and the embracement of best practices, while establishing continuous evaluation mechanisms for their outcomes.
  • Supervising the systems of scholarship and managing scholarship students affairs domestically, internationally, and through joint supervision programs.
  • Organizing and developing regulations governing the attendance and participation of faculty members in scientific events, as well as work missions and academic awards.
  • Developing and organizing regulations for faculty attendance and participation in scientific events, work assignments, and academic awards

  • Building strategic partnerships with national and international organizations in the field of graduate studies
  • Expanding local and international academic accreditations for graduate programs.
  • Monitoring the procedures for organizing scientific events across all university sectors.
  • Preparing for the establishment of agreements and partnerships between the university and Saudi, Arab, and international universities, as well as research centers, and contributing to the development of cultural relations

Doctoral candidate Zakia Ibrahim Fallata from the Faculty of Science (Microbiology - Virology and Immunology) won first place and the top award at the 18th Meeting of the Saudi Society for Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. Her research poster was recognized as one of 12 winning presentations at the Laboratory and Diagnostic Medicine Conference.

Dr. Mohammed Ashour, a Saudi physician-researcher sponsored by the University of Jeddah specializing in epilepsy, has achieved three groundbreaking research findings in the fields of neurology and epilepsy. These discoveries pertain to physiological and electrical signals in the brain. Dr. Ashour, who is based at Boston Childrens Hospital (affiliated with Harvard University and ranked number one in the United States), published these findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals: Pediatric Neurosurgery, Canadian Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, and Heliyon.
